Although the rule of many empires started and collapsed in ancient India, there were some empires of history that are still known for their ability, loyalty, power, and justice. So today we talk about the top 5 Hindu empires in Indian history, which are still known for their bravery and intelligence and who built big empires on their own. So the first name comes from the Maurya Empire.

1. Maurya Empire

The Mauryan Empire was at its peak during the time of Emperor Ashoka in 250BCE.

The Maurya Empire was started by Chandragupta Maurya in 322BCE by demolishing the Nanda Empire under the direction of Acharya Chanakya. Chandragupta Maurya became the first king of Akhand Bharat, which was founded by Acharya Chanakya and Chandragupta Maurya. Chandragupta Maurya expanded his efficient empire in the north and conquered the satraps or absolutists of Macedonia. Emperor Bindusara also kept his empire in power, but Emperor Ashoka took it to the highest peak. The Maurya Empire was at its highest peak in 250 BC, which was expanded by Emperor Ashoka. After Emperor Ashoka, the Maurya Empire gradually began to die down and was demolished by Pushyamitra Shunga at the time of Brihadartha in 184 BC.

The great rulers in this empire were Chandragupta I, Samudragupta, Chandragupta II, and Skandagupta. In about 5th CE, the great poet Kalidasa credited the Guptas with conquering 21 kingdoms inside and outside India. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj laid the foundation of the Maratha Empire, his father Shahji Bhosale was the commander of the Mughal sultanate. The Maratha Empire stretched from Peshawar in the north to Thanjavur in the south at the time of its highest peak. In the year 1645, Shivaji stood against the rule of the Mughal Empire and established a new empire in 1674.
