The Maurya Empire was
started by Chandragupta Maurya in 322BCE by demolishing the Nanda Empire under
the direction of Acharya Chanakya. Chandragupta Maurya became the first king of Akhand Bharat, which was
founded by Acharya Chanakya and Chandragupta Maurya. Chandragupta Maurya expanded his efficient empire in the north and
conquered the satraps or absolutists of Macedonia. Emperor Bindusara also kept his empire in power, but Emperor Ashoka took
it to the highest peak. The Maurya Empire was at its highest peak in 250 BC,
which was expanded by Emperor Ashoka. After Emperor Ashoka, the Maurya Empire gradually began to die down and
was demolished by Pushyamitra Shunga at the time of Brihadartha in 184 BC.
